Russia and Ukraine: Challenges for International Law and Politics

Центр польско-российского диалога и согласия в сотрудничестве с Институтом юридических наук Польской академии наук и Европейским центром Варшавского университета организовал международную научную конференцию под названием «Russia and Ukraine: Challenges for International Law and Politics», участие в которой приняли политологи и юристы из России, Украины и других европейских стран. 

Спустя пять лет после аннексии Крыма российско-украинские отношения по-прежнему остаются весьма нестабильными, что влечет за собой множество проблем на международной арене. Из-за обостренной ситуации на востоке Украины, а также инцидентов в Азовском море российско-украинский конфликт является одной из важнейших проблем международной политики и международного права. Первая дискуссионная панель конференции была посвящена анализу актуальной ситуации с точки зрения международного права. Эксперты старались представить возможные сценарии выхода из сложившейся тупиковой ситуации. Во время второй панели были проанализированы возможности международных организаций помочь стабилизировать ситуацию в регионе. Последняя панель была посвящена политической перспективе. Возможные с точки зрения международного права сценарии подверглись верификации с точки зрения интересов отдельных игроков.

Поводом для дискуссии послужила книга «The Case of Crimea's Annexation under International Law» – публикация Центра польско-российского диалога и согласия и Научного издательства «Scholar».

  • Hennadiy Maksak (Foreign Policy Council “Ukrainian Prism”, Kyiv) – Political and legal peculiarities of the current situation in Crimea and Donbas, likely and unlikely scenarios of developments between Russia and Ukraine

  • Andrzej Szeptycki (Warsaw University) – The future of Ukraine-Russia relations from the perspective of EU actors

14:15-15:45        Session 3: A political reality check – who is ready, willing and able to do what, when and under what conditions?

Having in mind possible legal solutions as given during the proceeding, which of them are or can be politically feasible under what conditions now or in the future given different domestic contexts and foreign policy agendas of each stakeholder (Russia, Ukraine, Poland, NATO, EU).
