The Eurasian Economic Union – marriage or mirage?

The Eurasian Economic Union – a means of achieving political objectives or a real integration project? The perception of the Eurasian Economic Union in Belarus and Kazakhstan – a forced integration or an integration of convenience? The meaning of the EU and China as centres of integration – cooperation or rivalry? These are some of the questions answered by our guests: Anna Maria Dyner and Paul Kalinichenko. The meeting was moderated by Łukasz Walewski.

Anna Maria Dyner – the head of the Eastern Europe Programme at the Polish Institute of International Affairs. She is a political scientist, specializing in Eastern matters. Her academic interests concern internal and external policy of Belarus and the role of Russia in the post-Soviet space. In the Polish Institute of International Affairs she is an expert of Belarus and Russia.

Paul Kalinichenko is a lawyer specializing in the international and European law. He’ s also a Director of the National School of Integration Studies His research activities focus on the EU economic law and the legal aspects of the Russia–EU relations. He is a legal advisor on European affairs in the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (2010) and on European law in the Eurasian Economic Commission (2012).

Łukasz Walewski – Polish Radio III journalist, specializes in external affairs. He worked as a correspondent in several countries. The author of books: "Przywitaj się z królową. Gafy, wpadki, faux-pas i inne historie" and "Czego królowa ci nie powie. Ambasadorowie". He is a former Radio ZET journalist. He was also an intern in TVN24 and a Spanish radio Cadena SER.
